Full-Time Content Strategist

(Remote)

About The Spot On Agency:

At Spot On, we’re pros at identifying and executing just the right digital marketing solution. Whether helping clients with answers to brand identity, content strategy, web design, or ad strategy, when it comes to healthcare technology marketing, we’re up for every challenge.

All the questions, iterations, stories told, and hearts and minds captured for our clients have earned us awards, helped us recruit some of the best marketing brains in the industry, and most importantly, earned us the trust of companies who have returned to us again and again to become long-term partners.

We’re looking for the next big brain to join our merry band of fun-loving, hard-working creatives who will love to strategize the best ways to help our healthcare technology clients achieve their growth goals as much as we do! (If you love listening to some hardcore dog – and cat – owners, you’ll like the team even more.)

The Role:

The Content Strategist is a critical member of the editorial team who will own ongoing content needs for a small group of assigned clients. Reporting to the Director of Content Development and working alongside account managers and experts in content and SEO, you’ll provide strategic editorial insights and recommendations to stakeholders and see digital content through from ideation to approval, including blogs, white papers, e-books, landing page copy, email, and more. While you’ll primarily create and distribute assignments to a stable of freelance writers, on occasion you will be expected to write short-form assets and optimize existing content.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain content calendars for small group of Spot On clients.
  • Coordinate with our SEO team to ensure that content is developed in alignment with SEO strategies, and project and account managers to determine weekly priorities.
  • Create outlines and content briefs. Assign blogs and other content to writers.
  • Provide line, copy, and developmental editing of all assigned assets, and ensure quality meets client expectations. Periodically provide internal review of edited copy.
  • Conduct content analyses as needed and share competitive and data-informed strategic guidance for new clients and clients undergoing strategic shifts.
  • Handle day-to-day writer management, including communication and sharing stakeholder feedback.
  • Write occasional copy for case studies, blog posts, gated assets, email lead nurturing campaigns, landing pages, and other creative.
  • Update client style guides as necessary.
  • Attend and actively participate, as needed, in client meetings.

Experience and Skills You Bring:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a writer and editor in professional settings, ideally including agency work (healthcare industry experience strongly preferred)
  • 1-3 years supporting or creating digital content strategy for midsize or larger companies
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Exceptional time management and ability to juggle multiple projects at once
  • Understanding of content marketing best practices
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, SEMrush & HubSpot
  • Working knowledge of project management tools
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

You'll Get:

  • Unlimited vacation
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance (with company contribution)
  • The opportunity for continued learning and growth
  • Monthly stipend to cover your internet charges
  • A fully remote work environment, no commute - the job comes to you
